Recently I recieved an email with a link to a news story on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer about a builder who built a home entirely with products made in America! That's right everything was made here in the USA.
In an age where we as a people are turning more and more to our Government to fix our problems I think this guy has it right. Buy products made in the USA and put people to work. The overall cost of the house was about 1% higher than it would have been if he had just bought products with the lowest price.
Think about the ramifications on jobs...it's staggering!!! If someone came to you and said they had had a way to put your mother, father, brother, sister or friend back to work and it would only mean spending an additional 1% over what you are currently spending would you do it? My guess is you wouldn't hesitate.
